The Trademarks Act of Saint Kitts and Nevis, which came into force June 1, 2002, is applicable for all trademark applications.

The Nice Agreement international classification system has been adopted and provides for the registration of service marks. Priority under the Paris Convention is now available.

Registration of a trademark is valid for a period of 10 years and may be renewed for a further period of 10 years.
Current UK-based registrations and local registrations will be valid under the new Trademarks Act until they expire.
